have some mini apes and looking at cable kits so im wondering is it worth the extra money for the LA Chopper kit or is the Burly kit ok after reading reviews about the weak clutch cable or is it a non issue ? thx
I have the burley kit and its true about them being too long. I have found if you buy a kit a size smaller than what you have it will be perfect. In other words if you have 16" bars buy a 14" bar kit. Quality is spot on I have not had any problems what so ever. Very pleased for the amount of money I spent.
I am putting 14" nice curves with 1 1/2" risers on my 13 XL1200C soon and was wondering what route you ended up going and what you thought....burly or la choppers and what size?
I had the burly kit and it sucked ***. After 3 months the clutch cable sized up, they sent me the wrong brake line, and the wires were not color match correctly, had to do hours of electrical to make sure it was all installed right and all said and done ended up having to buy another brake line from 3rd party and a new clutch cable
I got the choppers kit. The only issue I had was the chrome brake junction pick or whatever the proper name for it is.. Neither one of the brake lines threaded into it.. I had to tap both sides a fee times to get the lines to thread in and about a week later it was already rusting
I put 14" Burly apes on my Street Bob and used the 14" cable kit from Burly for my specific bike. The cables are quality made, are the right lengths, and I've had them on the bike about 2 years now and nothing is wrong with them.
