  1. 20mph - 1st to 2nd
  2. 30mph - 2nd to 3rd
  3. 40mph - 3rd to 4th
  4. 50mph - 4th to 5th
We are in the same ball park... 1st shift 20-25; 2nd shift 30-35; 3rd shift 40-45; 4th shift 50 - 70...

I came up with my shift point by listening to the engine and also by the way it feels. I don't have a tachometer so I have marked my speedometer with nail polish lines at max speed according to HD and found that they are a little bit off when the chatter started just before my line was hit .
Around 85 vibration starts and have only had it to 90 so far. I don't know what top speed is... my red line in 5th gear is at 110 but never been there on this bike.

It's not wise to do this in first gear, but on a clear road just rev the darned thing out in second, perhaps third, to see what it will do. Don't *****-foot around! You can't over-rev it. The numbers in the owners manual are very low indeed and you should routinely use significantly higher road speeds in each gear IMHO.

Shift points depend on your engine tuning. My stage one S model pulls like hell from 2200 rpm and up. Anything over 3500 rpm is annoying and unnecessary. My John Deere two cylinder tractor runs very much like my Harley. Tons of low end torque.

I generally shift when I hit 3000 RPM. It starts to smooth out there and seems to be happy when I rev a bit higher
