Default A bit more quiet exhaust ?

Okay i bought the vance & hines slip ons for my sportster and after some longer trips its just tooo much sound for me....

So what i am looking for now is something that is not as quiet as the original pipes but way much more quiet then the slip ons.

What i want of the sound is to be quiet when cruising and when i hitbfull throttle i want to hear the deep rumbling sound of my harley sportster iron.

Anyone that has a good idea, maybe some new baffles will help me ?..

These are legal in all 50 States here, I've heard them on a Dyna, I don't know how they sound on a Sportster.

Most of the Vance and Hines mufflers have available quiet baffles for purchase.
A friend of mine did a set with I think straight shots on a Honda Spirit.
The quiet baffles took a bunch of the "crack" out of the sound and performance was better , especially low end torque.
Which mufflers do you have specifically?

Wear ear plugs. It will tone your exhaust down and your ears will thank you in the long run.

I've got the vance and hines straight shots on my 48 and they have a very distinctive high pitched snap crackle and pop, and are loud as hell. They do sell the quiet baffles which I'm sure is what you'll need as well.

Quiet baffles are only a 3-5 db drop on sound. Other than tone won't quiet hardly at all for what one would think. As suggested if sound bothers you wear earplugs which you should anyway or get se slip ons. You will not be satisfied with them but you got 2 choices. You ride a Harley but want quiet get se slip ons and still not have any growl (more like a bobcat
compared to a lion) or suck it up ride the Harley and let is sound like one and don't be a ***** about it. You could get a patriot defender that has adjustable flap at outlet but not best look IMO.

Okay thank you for some nice tips about the exhaust system. And for those of you who wondered which one i have, its the vance & hines 3" chrome slip ons.

I have the original baffles in it now and i wear earplugs while riding i have also wrapped the original baffles whit some glassfiber soundmat.. And it helped a little bit i think ? But i wont it even more quiet so maybe next thing wuld be the vance & hines quiet baffles.

And for sure i love the sound on shorter trips, but i love my ears to when i take a longer ride and i dont wont to get them damaged.
