There are 2 or 3 companies that make a softail frame for the Sportster engine. That might do it for you.

The only problem is, I dont really like the FRAME! Swapping out the std shocks for lowies or struts still looks lame to me.
NO:

The frame is indeed the problem... along with the oil bag, forks, and some other stuff. The Sporty is what it is... which to
my eye... is pretty gorgeous. I kinda like what's happening with the white scooter. I think the 'Apes' are completely wrong
for the simple reason that they don't work with the dimensions of the scoot. Sportsters are by design about a big motor hanging
off of a compact frame. The high bars pull your eyes away from that very feature. That's one of the reasons your second example works so
very well.

People have also been known to put springer front ends onto Sporties but again the frame lets down the side imho.

If you want to Bob your scoot... i would suggest you supply the rake by upping the size of the front hoop, lowering the size of the rear and
keep the bars low... but then...wtfdik?

The oil tank and opposing side cover is the ugliest part of a Sporty since 1979 and seems to get worse with each new generation. It's tough to make the Hondaesqe mess on the '04 bikes look old school.

1978 was the last year for a good looking oil tank andbattery box set up.
