RE: Sportster mirrors
Here is a link to a site that has about 200 different mirrors for the sportster. All types, sizes and styles you can imagine. Their prices seen to be very reasonable also.

RE: Sportster mirrors
Replaced my stocks (broken off in and accident) with billet stemmed mini diamonds from drag specialties. I love'm. Billet heavy short stems curb the vibrations immensely. Sounds to me like yours just need to be adjusted properly. You should also make it a habit of actually looking behind you. Mirrors are only good for seeing cagers when they are approaching you at intersections. If you are lane changing or passing, ALWAYS LOOK or...die. The choice is yours.

RE: Sportster mirrors
HD now has some mirrors that have an extended section that is convex at the tip. You still get to see what's on the side with 3/4 of the mirror and the convex tip lets you see behind yourself. I bought them and loved them, for one day at least. The second day the left POS fell off the stem. Needless to say, I took the broken mirror back to HD and went with the stock ones again. Maybe I bought the the exception to the quality of HD....

RE: Sportster mirrors
i bought, but have yet to put on, ellipse mirrors from kuryakyn, actually on ebay. i tried putting them on one day and i just couldn't figure them out. the way you have to tighten them, then they don't line up right so i don't know maybe i'll get around to giving it a shot again soon. they do look pretty sweet though!
