Default Anyone out there with ONLY Burly Slammers in rear?

Thinking about slamming my rear suspension on a 2014 883 Iron, but not wanting to drop the front. The Burly Slammer kit comes with front and rear set. The rear shocks are available separately, so I was wondering if anyone was riding with only those? If so, how's the ride and handling? Would you recommend just the rear drop?

I have them. Burly slammers only on the rear with the stiffest setting. No changes to the front and it handles just fine. Ride quality is alright if you do a lot of in-town riding with fewer road bumps or pot holes. I have done several 450+ miles long rides in Texas Hill Country with this setup and don't hate them. Although you may not like them if you are a big guy. I am 136 lbs so thats not too much load on the shocks.

just my 2 cents ...

I have the Licks Cycles 10" rear shocks(same as Burly's) with no change in the front on my 48. The shocks are stiff but I like them. I am only a 120lbs though.

I have an 04 1200 R with the 10" Burly Slammers in the rear, standard length progressive springs in the front, and Michelin Cmdr IIs on the rims. Love the stance and the way she handles. Ride is a little stiff but I like it that way, and have never bottomed it out.

I ran slammers in the rear with stock front on my 07 in the sig pic. The bike didn't feel as stable during high speed cornering, but I got used to it. If you like to ride aggressively, I wouldn't recommend it. You definitely won't be gaining anything...other than looks.

I lowered back before front. I didn't mind them before I lowered front. Liked them better than stock as far as handling. I'm 135 and used softest pre-load. If you ride bumpy secondary roads, you will feel every little bump. Big bumps will kick your butt up off the seat. I ended up letting some air out of back tire to compensate, but that cost me by being a little loose corners, so any handling improvement was a wash. So I just took it easy. That wouldn't be so much of an issue if all the roads you drive are smooth. Then you can run a firmer back tire, and you'll be tighter than stock. Shorter shocks almost always means stiffer (or rough) ride. Depends on your roads, and how you like to ride.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. Think I'm going to go with just the rear like I was planning.
