which fuel management ?
Cobra Fi2000R O2 Digital Fuel Processor $260
or
Vance & Hines FuelPak - Fuel Management System $260
or
Dynojet 15-002 Power Commander V $282
all I am doing to the 2008 XL12000 is Ness Big Sucker and
Khrome Werks 3in. HP-Plus Slip-On Mufflers -
or dealer download flash for $150. I don't plan any more upgrades.

Would the constant fuel monitoring of the more expensive models give better performance and more constant A/F ratio than just a download flash?
Is the Superchips Vigilante any different than a download from a dealer?

If it's performance you are after, there are better units than the Vigilante. It's good for canned flashes like you would get at the dealer. They have a good selection of flashes for the different brands of exhaust and intakes. If all you want is to fatten up the mixture to run smoothly with the new parts, this works great. I flashed mine and it definitely runs much smoother. All I've done is pipes so far but it runs better and stronger than stock and cooler as well.
If you want all the power you can squeeze out of the bike, a PowerVision would be the best bet.

I went with the Power Commander V and couldn't be more happy, back when I bought the bike Oct. 2012 I performed a Stage 1 and at that time I had no intensions on ever upgrading the motor but I did like the fact that if I ever decided to sell the bike and buy another I could just transfer it to the new one.
Almost two years later I'm not going to sell the bike but I am thinking of pumping the motor up which the PCV can handle. the PCV is affordable and you can either put a general map on it or Dyno the bike and have a customized map made just for your bike.

I had 2002 XL1200 and spent a ton of money on motor and chrome. Now I have a 2002 FXDX-T that I have spent a ton of money on performance upgrades and, thankfully, it is a black engine bike so I didn't buy any chrome. I will keep this one till I die. I also have a Triumph America 865 cc that I'm leaving just the way it is. We were on vacation and we went into the HD shop to use the rest room and my wife, who does not share my enthusiasm for motorcycles, saw a 2008 anniversary model copper-top XL1200 and wanted it because it was pretty. I tried to talk her out of it, our daughter tried to talk her out of it, her best friend tried to talk her out of it, but she had made up her mind to spend money on something she was never going to use. She has a monkey on her back about shopping for stuff she doesn't need and won't use. The previous owner had left it stock. So I'm putting on the Big Sucker and Khrome Werks slip-ons and stopping right there. I know I need an adjunct for the EFI and want to keep it as simple as possible. I don't remember which year it was, 2004 or 2007, but the newer Sporties have a better cam then did my 2002 so I have no reason to do anything else. The PCV is way more than I need.
I'm now leaning towards the FuelMoto EFI Microtuner but I'll wait for more responses.
Thank you all.
