You have eased my mind on the squeel thing will re-evaluate after 1000 mile check up but am making an appointment to have the front line bled immediately.

RE: 2007 1200C Front Brake
My brake cable stretched a little when it was brand new (2006 1200XLC). It would move about half way before the brake began to grab. I mentioned this to the service guys at the 1000 mile tune up and they fixed it. They told me that the new brake cables tend to stretch a little........just needed to be tightened up. It has been fine ever since.......

I second this post. Go with the Lyndall pads. Squeeks will go away and your stopping power will be better. Either model of the Lyndall blows away the stock Harley pads. You can also use Brake Quiet made by the Loctite company. That stuff seems to work good too..
PS. From what you're saying about the lever not grabbing until halfway, sounds to me like you got some air in your brake line. You might need to have the brakes bled. A lot of new bikes are sold like this. Don't ask me why but I've seen it before. Also, for an even harder brake feel, try some steal braided cables...Good luck.

At 2500 miles, I switched to the Lyndall carbon/kevlars. No more squeek, dust or fade.

I get a little bit of a squeek on mine just before I stop and put my feet down....

RE: 2007 1200C Front Brake
Thanks again y'all. Believe I now have enough info to decide what to do. Heres my fix:
1. Bleed front break line.
2. Change out stock Pad withLyndallcarbon/kevlars.
I like the new pad idea as I don't believe the front disk is as strong as it needs to be to handle in an emergency. Especially when its the front brake that provides 80% of the bikes stopping power.
P.S. thomasf59 love your icon dude.

Am thinking of getting some louder pipes butwill still have to do something about the brake problem. Too mushy and the stopping power is not what I expected from a new bike.
Now that the controls are up front and my point of leverage has changed it is more important than ever that these brakes do what they need to do.
Have tons of traffic here and you can allways count on at least one idiot to do something stupideither comming or going. Got to have good brakes.
