Default brake/shifter lever

When I bought my bike I had the dealer install forward controls. And at the time I didn't know they had a polished and a chrome version. Well the dealer installed the polished version and I hate the look of it. Cause I have the chrome pegs/shifter. Now I am changing the shift lever/brake lever to the vented style 42986-04 ad 42980-04. Now my question is how hard is it going to be to just swap the 2 levers. I have a factory service manual. Do I need to take off the exhaust to change the lever

No you dont have to remove the exhaust, however you do need to take off the 2 bolts from the bottom of the front muffler, then you can move it enought to get your hand down to remove the brake lever rod.

What is your intentions to do with the polished set, id be interested in buiying them from you if your selling at a fair price.
