Default sportster service manual

Hello all, I have a question about service manuals. I was wondering if it is better to go with a genuine Harley manual of a after market one? I still have not found one for a 2014 but I have found one for the 2013, is there much difference between the 1 year? Thanks in advance, Dave

PS. Thanks to all who have welcomed me in the new member section. It meant a lot to me.

Most people will tell you to buy the Harley manual. I bought the clymer manual and havent had an issue yet.

Get the REAL DEAL, they are available.
None of the "knock-off" manual compares to the real thing.

I had sticker shock when I bought mine from the dealer... I might have gone with an after market if I'd known the price before ordering it. However, I've used it a lot since then and I don't know if I would regret getting a knock-off. Just glad I'm not kicking myself.

+1 - One hour of dealer labor saved, pays for the manual and you'll have money left over for beer.

Aftermarket manuals cover a great many years and don't cover everything. HD manuals only cover one or a few years very thoroughly! We get our money back the very first time we use them to do even the simplest task. After that the book is free! The first time an aftermarket book lets you down, you have to go buy the real one.

I ordered my GENUINE HD service manual on line, it was $12.00 cheaper than my HD dealer wanted and it was delivered to my door with no tax added...

I agree, get the genuine HD manual...
