Default Is $550 for an OEM Iron 883 gas tank too much?

Hey guys I need a new gas tank for my iron and was wondering if $550 is overpriced or just about normal.

Its the only OEM Iron 883 gas tank that I have found for sale on the entire internet -- save for a few dealers that sell them for ~$900.

Do they go for less in the HDforums classified section?

I dont want to end up paying $550 and then beat myself over the head later when I find one for sale on the forum for $300.

Thanks guys, let me know: $550 shipped, is it too much?

Side note: not new, slightly used, but in good condition. Free of any dings/ scratches

550 sounds high. I put an 883 tank on my 48. Usually go for around $200-$350 depending on condition. I bought mine for $175 with a couple dents. I took it to a local powder coating place. He fixed the dents and powder coated it for $100. Came out great. Super durable. Been on there for a year now. But I'm cheap and I looked for about 6 months for a good deal. If it is in great condition and you like that paint it might be worth it.

Yes, it's too high. Why dont you find one on ebay or craigs? I bought a 2013 iron tank for $50, no dent or scratches.

I found it on eBay, and it was Buy It Now for $650 + $38 shipping... I PM'd the seller asking him to lower the price to $500 + $50 shipping and he agreed.

My tank is damaged, and according to some of the guys on here, its damaged beyond repair as far as saving the original HD logo goes. Tell me what you think Ployd.

I paid $1000 for a factory 2014 black denim full set of tins, all take off in mint condition. tank, front & rear fenders ,2 side panels. sold the front fender for $200. keep checking ebay. $50 seems crazy lucky, but you never know. ive been watching for how much 2014 -48 stock pipes are going for, and ive seen them go for $320-$60 for the exact same 2014 exhaust setup, both auctions were last month, so go figure. I guess it depends on how much time you have to wait & watch.

I bought the stock 883 logo off eBay for $25. The oem tank has it under the clear and it is painted on.

$300 is what you will find used ones for on eBay. Be patient, one will show up for sale.

I would say that $500 is definitely a little high.
