Stripped bolt for outer rocker cover
Looking to fix this soon as I'm still pissing oil. I'm looking to go to the helicoil way, just wondering if anyone knew what size I need? I've looked around and it looks like 1/4-20 should do it, but just want to confirm.

did you try a longer bolt first? sometimes you can get away with that. Then tear it down when winter sets in.
I find one of these real handy for those bolts, you can use your torque wrench on it, just remember to allow for the % difference in torque.

this is right, i pulled the same bolt stunt a while back.

i used perma-coil... couldn't find helicoil.
i needed a T-handle tap driver like this:

i did it while the rocker box was still on the bike. maybe harder for you depending on which bolt hole threads stripped out. the bolts require very low torque and will strip the hole threads easily. 120-168 in-lbs (13.5-19.0 Nm).
