Default Progressive mono tube review

So I just installed this front fork upgrade for the good ol' forty-eight. The stock front suspension had too much sag so I went ahead and ordered me a pair of progressive mono tubes along with progressive's 12" 416 rear spring. The install wasn't too hard. It's all about having the right tools and making sure to put everything back in the order you took it off. For instance I had to buy a 36mm socket for the front fork caps (use a shop towel to prevent scratching). The only real hard part was taking out the drain screw at the bottom of the fork tube. That thing dug in there worse than a Mississippi tick. Be careful to not strip this screw (its metric). Removing the front wheel, brake caliper and fender were all pretty easy, so don't be intimidated to do the work yourself. It's helpful to have the service manual nearby.

After I installed the new progressive mono tubes, I couldn't wait to take the bike on a ride. The front now feels stiff as hell. It won't bottom out but I guess maybe I'll have to break em' in. The bike definitely feels more maneuverable, and is great on the turns. I will update this post as I put more miles with the mono tubes in. The bike is coming along nicely, its been a fun journey. This is my first motorcycle. I have become a parts junkie!
