Default Burly 12" apes

I'm thinking of going with the Burly black narrow 12" apes and wondered if people like them. How about the Burly cable kit?
It's hard to tell from many of the pictures what size of apes people have. I'd appreciate if those with 12's could post up a pic.
Thanks!

I just put a set of Burly 12's on my Iron a few months ago. I love the feel and the install was pretty straight forward. I'd strongly recommend a service manual though, in case you need to trace any wiring later, or need help like I did with the clutch cable.

The only real issues I encountered was once I got done, the master cyliner cap leaked no matter what I did. I bought a new chrome cap kit from Drag Specialties and it fixed it. Then a few weeks ago the Russell brake line that came with the Burly kit started leaking and had to be replaced. If I were being picky I'd say the included clutch cable could have been a bit shorter, but it hasn't caused any real issues.

I installed the 16 inch narrow Burlys on my 72. They look and feel badass. Wiring through the bars. Clean and quick install. Love em

I have the 14" Burly narrows. I have the forty eight which has no risers and the cable kit is made for 2" risers. So if you have a 48 you can get the 12" cable kit for the 14" bars etc.

The Burly bars are nice, but I would consider a different wiring/cable kit. I know of two guys who bought the Burly wiring kit and both had problems with the throttle cables kinking and one snapped.. LA choppers makes a kit for a few pennies more. I used those myself and the quality seems pretty good. You have to buy the wiring separate, but the kit for wiring was about 20 bucks.

Dont know about the LA choppers but I´ve had no problems with my Burly Cable kit. What ever cable you install you have to be careful installing it.

I just did 16's on stock risers and the Burly cables are still slightly long. They feel much smoother than the stock cables though so I can live with the excess I guess

I understand this is an older thread so if I need to start a new thread then please let me know. I wanted some information on the Burly 12" handlebars. I want to know what is the steel tubing width used to make these? Are these .120" like the Biltwell or .105" like the Paughco?
