Looks nice but I cant go for the 14 as they will be too huge as I have the 6 inch stock riser. What I am worried about is the wall tubing thickness of the apes. Based on my research 0.120" wall tubing is the best. Majority of the 1.25" thickness bars are built from 0.120" tubing but unfortunately none are available for my sportster model which has a 5.5" wide 1" thickness clamping section.
So next option is 0.120" wall tubing on 1" bars but till mow found only Biltwell bars being made from that thick wall tubing. Rest 1" bars are either 0.090" or 0.100.

Not sure how good would be a lower wall thickness considering vibration and strength.

Looks nice, although I tested with the 8" mini apes and I found them a bit low to my liking. So either a 10 or a 12 would fit well for me. I was just worried on the thickness. Major issue is that I have to get the part shipped to India so want to finalize all the parts down to the exact spec before placing an order. Tried going with the HD dealership but they just dont deviate from what their book says. Since April they are trying to figure out what cables they can use for a street bob handlebar on my sportster. Finally they figured out that dyna throttle and idle cables would fit my sportster but the clutch cable will be an issue.

That's why I am thinking of going the non HD route.

Thanks, yeah that helps. For mine I will have to do some more calculations as I have raised the front by almost 4.5" for more ground clearance. Thats the current status.

This is my 72 with 16's and stock cables. No problems with it at all.
