Hi guys,im in uk and took delivery of my 2010 iron which already has a lovely set of vance & hines shortshots which i love the sound,but they are chrome and i think i prefer them in black.
Only problem is if i powdercoat them black then you wont see the V&H logo and i see the black set has a V&H badge riveted on after but cant find this badge anywhere???

 

Actually, did you try Vance & Hines? I ask because on a past motorcycle I had, I had black pipes and the riveted badge cam loose and I lost it. I called them thinking they would charge me and they sent me a replacement free of charge - only cost be the two rivets from the autoparts store......

Your powder coater should be able to mask off the badges. If not find another coater.

 

On the chrome pipes the logo is engraved into the pipe but on the black pipes it is badge riveted ontop. Its not a case of masking it.
