Paint ruined from Tire Shine

Mold release agent gives new tires a slick finish. New tires will not have enough traction for you to throw sparks right away, they will slide out from you. Minimum first 100 miles you need to do this procedure, some tires (makes me wonder how many people who never read the warnings they get with the new tire literature now) require 200 miles.

That sucks.
OP has some suggestions from co-members to try including S-100, Wd-40, Vinegar, brake clean.
I think you may be out of luck as in the photos the paint looks etched, even the cam covers.
There has been many threads about Nightster grey engine case staining.
1) Try a buffer on the cam cover. Sand lightly with 1000 grit sandpaper and buff with a polishing compound.
Else, stripe the clear coating and re-polish the aluminum, or paint black like an Iron, or replace the covers.
2) The air cleaner cover and engine case.
I think you need to repaint.
I recall Harley sells the grey color in a spray paint can.
Or paint black or replace.
Really sucks...good luck with your repair.

Well, I see two possibilities...you can either spray the entire engine with tire shine -OR- get thyself some PigSpit [please don't spend your $$ on this "magical" spray, which I've seen sold for as much as $14 a can at a local indy shop], also known as SILICONE SPRAY [available for $3+ a can at Pep Boys].
In my initial infancy I bought one can of PigSpit, and immediately noticed a familiar scent...it was the scent of silicone! So when the can of 'Spit was gone, I bought myself a couple cans of CRC "Heavy Duty Silicone" and low and behold, 'sumbitch!!...it's the same thing and offers the exact same result...what a mark-up!!
I use it twice a year to even out the finish on the black powder coated engine of my '09 Iron. I just spray it on the engine and walk away. D.U.N. Done.
Hopefully it will help you in your situation with the grey powder coat on your engine. 'Not sure about the covers but it's worth a try. Best wishes.
