Default XL Sportster Rear Wheel Bearings Fitment

I have got a used cast solid wheel that has ball bearing type wheel bearings which I assume makes the wheel pre-'74? I have a '99 XL 883 with laced (spoked) wheel which should have Timken taper rollers. Can I install the expected taper roller ones from my '99 into the cast solid wheel without machining anything? Thanks Ride Free.

make sure the OD and thickness are the same and i believe you should be good. You can look up both bearings online and get the measurements on each if you dont have a micronimer. you might have to make a spacer adjustment if the rim depth is different or the bearing thickness is different.
