Default Sissybar on new XL1200T?

A month ago I bought a new 2014 Superlow XL1200T and I am loving it. I am 5 foot 8 and the bike fits me perfectly and allows me to ride with confidence and comfort. Not like my old Honda CB650 which rode too high for me to flat-foot it at stops, and which vibrated annoyingly at highway speeds, making long rides very fatiguing. The side saddlebags on the 1200T, while small, are nice for stowing gloves, small items, and GPS at restaurant stops and whatnot.

The bike is coming up on its 1000 mile service and I am trying to decide whether to have any accessories hung on the bike as long as it is in service anyway. I was thinking of adding a sissybar in order to make it easier to hang accessories on the bike for day rides. Any comments on sissybars on a Sportster? I already have an engine guard with footpegs and really like it. And the HD alarm with siren and a Garmin GPS.

Comments?

You can get a quick disconnect bar from Harley. You will need the attaching hardware to make it removable. It's a couple hundred bucks. I have it on my 48. Comes in black or chrome.

As far as HD bars go, my favorite is the one piece detachable.

why let the dealer do it when you can do it in about hr with simple tools, the stealer will charge outrageous prices for labor , bad enough what they charge for the maintenance services

If you are planning multi-day trips (especially bike camping trips), having bags, a sissy bar, and a luggage rack are nice items to have. You can strap a lot of **** to a Sporty. Set up as shown below, I'm good for a week.

You can certainly get a bunch of stuff on the bike without bags, a bar, and a rack but it sure makes it convenient.

I've got a quick release sissy bar / luggage rack on mine. I don't ride around with it on, but it sure comes in handy on those quick little trips to the store.

plan on putting the detachable luggage rack/sissy bar on my "T". Had one on my 06 XL1200C and as stated you can attach a lot of things for trips or ?. It's easy and fun to do since you already have the docking hardware that comes on the "T". thought about the detach solo mount and trunk but like the sissy bar/luggage rack better.

Just do it. There are many reasons to have a sissybar/rack and no reason not to have one.
