I had a DS chrome belt guard that did the same thing after ~20,000 miles. I said F-it and reinstalled the black OEM guard. That was 80,000 miles ago and the OEM is still doing fine.

You have +100 k miles?!

You gotta start a thread with your bikes health history. Thats too much good data to horde in your head. When did you replace your belt for the first time? Was it preventative or reactionary? Share....

So many questions

Replaced Drive Belt (proactive) at 80,000 miles.

the drag part is slightly wider, sits higher, and has a less substantial mounting arm.

That's a real bummer. Maybe ask for your money back and chrome the stock guard?

I bit the bullet and bought the hd chrome upper belt guard . Solid as a rock after 300 miles.

Drag specialties is junk and the company blew the opportunity to shine. Total waste of money and time
