Default Fuel smell

I have a 2006 883L. On purchase I had them do a Stage 1. Every once in a while on acceleration, I'd catch a whiff of gas. I thought that maybe since the front pipe ends before the saddlebag, I was getting some updraft off the pipe. I recently installed the Drag air filter and now on a hard acceleration, the smell is very noticeable. I took a look at the air filter and the bottom part has some slight discoloration, like a fuel stain. I've not noticed any fuel leak whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

Default RE: Fuel smell

I would not worry about it as its nothing to be concerned about. Your more free flowing filter that is open all the way around also lets more fuel smell out and the discoloration is likely either dirt or the infamous oil blow by from the breather bolts that vent back into the filter/carb, its its blow by you'll also see from oily residue on the bottom of your carb or surrounding area.
