Default Mystery Green Trans Fluid

I just picked up a 2005 883 Sportster w/ 4500 original miles. I know they are original as the bike came from a friend and overall is in mint condition.

So I changed the Oil and put in 20-50 Syn and then did the trans and put in Redline V twin Trans fluid.

However what came out of the trans was green and strange .... and was wondering if water got in the trans or what.

I do not believe the trans fluid was ever changed. The bike has sat for nearly three years with little riding. It was started from time to time.

Any ideas what this is??? The bike shifted good otherwise before the change.

I'd like to know too,, because mine is blue,, I think it might be normal, I think my mechanic put some amsoil or something it, I didn't even want it changed but I guess he had too to replace the starter.

It was slippery with a slight foam inside the cover. It did seem like oil, but with something in it.

At least I know the Red line I put in is RED.

May have had a leak at some point that was hard to trace and dye may have been added.

That's possible.. but I don't see any leaks or now... and overall it runs very good.

I was kinda shocked to see it come out. I was expecting dark black....

Think I may have found the oil. But it kinda freaked me out a bit. Looks like a baby diaper...
