Default Front brake switch ?

Which is the easiest way to confirm that the front brake switch is bad?. Currently, my 07 XL1200C has the rear brake light stuck on, now I haven't done any recent changes, I just noticed this at the start of the season.
I removed the front controls to see if the end of the switch was broke off, or stuck in, which it isn't, i pushed on the switch a few times, seems to return fine.
When I unplug the rear switch the brake light is still on, checked connections at the taillight, all seems proper. unplug it under the seat taillight goes out, however i'm not sure which wires at that connection to check for continuity.

if you un plugged the rear brake light switch and the light stayed on it pretty much has to be the front brake switch..unless there is some sort of weird short between a hot wire and the brake light, which I doubt very much,...if there was any other kind of a short it would blow a fuse...
