Smile scarce 4.5 gallon owners with low drag bars

Now I've spent plenty of hours looking for this setup. There's one guy on youtube that has done it on his 48. I have a 1200 low with a 4.5 gallon tank looking to do the same setup but can't figure out how much pullback, or lack there of is required to not bash my controls into the tank. I have already relocated the signals so those shouldn't be a problem. I read through the comments in his video and he mentioned that 32" wide bars worked for him. He also has an aftermarket 4.5 gallon tank from jp cycles, so I don't know if that would make a difference. As far as I know, my tank is a harley tank. I believe one person here had 30" bars but couldn't find anymore information than that.

Here's a link to the youtube video I'm referring to.

coles/cliff notes: Does anyone have pictures or info of their sportster with low/stock (not custom) risers and a 4.5 gallon tank? Specifically looking for which widths and pullback work with this tank.

Thanks in advance from a new harley owner.

**UPDATE**

SUCCESS!! 32" wide with 4.5" pullback work with stock cables and controls and most importantly, clearing the 4.5 gallon tank.

I love the look of his bike. I've seen this video before and it's really done up nice. This how i want my 48 to look. That 4.5 gallon tank from jpcycles is unavailable atm though .

I just picked up a 29" drag bar and 3" risers for my 08 1200L. It has 4.5 gallon tank. I got the RSD relocate speedo kit, and moving the turn signals to the forks. I am planning on doing the move soon, but mockup I don't see any problems. If you were to mount clip ons to the forks you could have a tough time with it. I will post pictures of mine, and through the process. I think I am going to do it in two steps. First do the risers and speedo relocate, and then do the drag bar separate. I will take plenty of pics and post them.

That video looks like he has a chip on his tank from the low mirrors.

Yea, that bike is awesome. I'd definitely like to get my 1200 to have a similar profile to it too.

Nice bike. But I'm weird, I like the old school BIG headlight - bigger than stock headlight. (Like I had on my Maxim XJ650) If I could find a well executed one for a Sportster I'd scarf it up

Hey, we're all a little weird. Whoever says they aren't is in denial. I like big headlights too. It just depends on the look that you're going for, whether it be modern & sleek or traditional & nostalgic

Right around the 50 second mark you get a good shot of it.
