yeah, I wouldn't use seafoam, if you want to do something like that there are products made specifically for adding to oil, use those,, although I wouldn't see it necessary on a small engine like a vtwin,

a v6 on a car though is a different story, I had a 2000 v6 Camaro with 50,000 miles and I swear it ran a lot smoother after I used a sludge removal treatment..

I could have sworn on the SF can it says something about adding to the oil crankcase.

hi yes it says on the can

"use in oil" on the front and on the back " WHEN ADDED TO CRANKCASE OIL HELPS: Quiet noisy lifters and clean dirty parts due to deposit build-up one pint treats 10 quarts of oil(avg.1 2/2 oz per qt) for use in all motor oils including synthetics. Can be used before or after an oil change. When oil becomes dirty change oil.

which is why i asked and i know i read here on this forum about others using it in the oil before a change to clean deposits and break up and sheen or layers on the inside of the engine.

But now like i said i use mobil 1 15/50 full synthetic only so i also feel that my motor shouldnt be too bad inside , but why not do a little extra every now and then too keep things clean??

i use it twice a year in the fuel system to clean that out even though i use only premium gas that has all the cleaners and stuff already in it.

It does recommend it for oil. And like I said, I do use it on my older vehicles. Like my 73 F100s 390. I put about 1500 miles a year on that thing and the first time I used seafoam in the oil it ran noticeably better. Dont use it every yearly oil change, every 2 or 3 years.

Speaking of oil additives, reminds me of STP in the '60's, do they still make that crap?
I had a '58 Chevy beater in 1968.
Never changed the oil, but alternated a qt. of oil and a can of STP every couple of weeks.
It looked like thick honey but quieted that thing down.

NO, dont use it on the sporty. A wet sump system you can drain all the oil out of the engine. A sporty you can not, there will be oil (and seafoam) left in the egine.

Just curious cHarley, the engine you tore down, did it utilize the stock head breather system where it vents gases back into the intake? Or was your engine vented to atmosphere?
