Hey everyone recently bought a 2014 XL1200C and the wife and I went riding and the stock seat killed her bottom. I was wondering if anyone had any info on a good two up seat for us.

I have been doing some reading and have read that the HD Sundowner I believe its called and the Mustang Wide Vintage seats are really good for two up. I had no problem but she needs some more cushion for her little booty!

look in the parts catalog they gave you when you bought the bike (or go back to the shop and ask for one, OR look at 'em on the HD website).

Two words: Signature Seat.

It's the newest seat Harley just came out with this year for the Sporty. It's not cheap, but it's a 1-up seat, upgradeable to a 2-up. The rider seat has a fully adjustable (up/down, tilt forward/back, swivel side to side on turns, etc), quick-detach backrest, too. Very, very comfy seat. Unless you bought bike from a really big dealership, they may not even have the seat in-stock to look at, but they'll order one for you to see/try before you buy.

 

I installed the Mustang Vintage Solo seat w/ passenger seat. I opted for regular width up front and the wide version of the passenger seat. I like the flexibility of taking the passenger seat off when not needed. This setup is MUCH better than the stock seat on my 2013 XL1200C.

 

Sundowner is the most bang for the buck you will get in a seat. I had one on my 05 XL883C and it was great... I had a Mustang on my 07 FLHTC for about 70000 miles and was good but then bought a Sundowner and wondered why i didn't do it earlier...Also have one on my 02 FXDP

 

This is a common subject - the two seats that get most commonly reported on are Sundowner and Mustang. The Signature looks interesting.

 

I have had the HD signature one piece on a Switchback, both wife and I found it quite comfortable. My wife and I currently both have mustang wide solo seats on our sportsters and find them very comfortable, my 3rd mustang wide over the years. The mustang and signature have the widest rear portion. Mustang and signature can be bought with rider backrests.
