Is anyone running HD air shocks on their sporty? Are the advantages/disadvantages? Will they bolt right up?

Yes! Probably my favorite "bang for the buck" mod. I used Street Glide shocks I picked uup with 7.5 k on them for $70.00 on ebay. About an hour to mount and plumb them.Huge benefit in ride and handling,,,

I run mine with no additional (at atmospheric pressure) on my 48. Adding air seemed to stiffen up the ride too much while I was solo. I'll add 2-3psi if I'm going for a long 2 up ride.

Also, touring bike shocks are taller than most stock sportster shocks so be prepared for the rear to sit a bit higher.

I've had the Street Glide shocks on for a couple seasons now and can say that they were,by far, the best upgrade to date.

They 12" vs the 11" that came with the bike, but that does not mean it raises the rear an inch. With the angle they are mounted the difference is about 1/2". If you change your seat to lower profile, you will be back at sstock height.

Truth be told, I only noticed the height difference for about three days.

The only downside (there is ALWAYS a downside) is the new shocks will highlight how bad the front springs are.

But your butt and lower back (and any passengers you Cary) will thank you.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what did you use to wrap your forks black?

Are there ones from specific models that work best on the sportsters?
