Default Seat suggestion!

Need your opinion on a couple of different seats for my 05 XL 1200C.

First is a seat from Harley, it’s the Pillow-Look Touring Seat, Part #52109-04.

The next is a Mustang One-Piece Regal Duke Seat, Model #76518.

Do you have either on your bike and if so, how do you like it? I’d also like to know what your female passenger has to say.

Any suggestion on a different seat is also welcome. Any suggestions on the best place to purchase any seat other than the one from Harley are also welcome.

Thanks everybody!!

I put the HD Sundowner Bucket Seat on my '98 XLH. They have the same seat for '04's and up.
Part # 51507-04
It's got a 15" seat with a 12.5" passenger pillion.
It's way more comfortable that the stock seat was. Doesn't leave me with a sore *** on long rides and the wide passenger pillion is very comfortable too.

I have the pillow look seat. I find it very comfortable and my wife finds the passenger end of it very comfortable. I had the swap made when I bought the bike, so I can't compare it to the stock seat. There's been lots of posts about seats here. Try a search and you may get some more answers.

I just bought the same seat for my 1200, very nice seat for two up riding.

nav, does the pillow get good lower back support. i'm been tossing it around between the sundowner and the pillow style. all the dealers in my area have only the sundowner. they don't really have calls on the pillow style, so if i order one they want me to buy it. i would really like to see both at the same time before i buy one.

the mustang vintage wide seat is really nice with similar dimensions as the sundowner. i think it looks a little better too. good luck with you pick and send us a pic of the bike with your new seat on it. ride often and have fun.

I haven't had any back discomfort with the pillow look seat. The longest day I've had with it is about 250 miles. My riding style doesn't call for any more than that. I can appreciate why you want to compare the two seats side by side before buying.

I am looking at the Sundowner for my '05 1200 Custom also. Does it sitmore forward or backthan the std 2up. I am 6'4 and would like to get a little further back if possible in addition to a more comfortable seat.

I have a Sundowner. I have put about 300 miles on it. Awesome for long rides. It's large and kind of overkill for short rides. You also sit up higher. I decided to use my stock seat around town and use the Sundowner on long rides.
