"gayster" thats funny.. Not to sound like a jerk butdid anyone ever tell you your 883 wanabee 1200 was gay?No, of course not becauseHarley never makes a "gay" bike...its not possible. The XR1200 is completely different style bike.. its an (U.S.)XR883 with a 1200 engine. The Europeans are probably wishing they could get the 1200N.
By the way my 1200N never asks me to take windy walks and hold hands with it.

The seat, hard as a rock! There are seats out there that have good style that are comfortable. Quick fix. Other than that I love it.

Here's the part where I sound like a jerk. Let me apologize in advance. I don't like it at all. I think its name should be, "the gayster." I think that HD will limit the XR1200 to a Europe only model because of the nightster. IMO, HD gave us the wrong prototype as a production model. I hope that all of the nightster owners are happy with it and I hope it serves you well. I'll keep my 2000 XL and be happy with it until we get the XR1200. If we ever get it. Just my .02
The "gayster"??? Said 883Sporty..That's funny...
The XR1200 is focused on a COMPLETELY different market segment than the 1200N anyways..Glad you are proud of your NOT-GAY Sporty
Cheers

It's cool. Tell ya what, I'll run any 1200N against my 883 wannabe 1200 anytime. I'm rather fond of my 883/1200 conversion andit don't look like a factory bobber wannabe. I hope you get many joyous miles out of your Nightster. I just prefer a different style.

If I ever go to sell my 1200N (AKA Gayster) I think I will like the resale value on it over an 833 conversion. JMO Sound like a little NV to me.

No NV here. I will say that the Orange and Black looks better than the other color scheme. The point is we all dance to a different drum. Try not to take it personally. I think that we will find in a year or 2 that the Nightster will have a comparble resale value to any other late model 1200. I didn't buy my bike for resale value. I bought it to make it unique. There isn't another Sporty around that looks like mine. Can you say that about the 1200N?

I'm a little dissapointed that my first post has to be about crap like this and not about the bike. I come from a sportbike background and recently bought a Nightster. I have my reasons for buying it and so far I'm very happy with it. One thing I always hated with the sportbike crowd was how they ALWAYS thought the bike they were riding was the best bike EVER.(until next years model) The ol' "My dick is bigger than your dick!" So I come on this board and that's all I see. "My Harley is better than your Harley!" If it has two wheels and says Harley Davidson on it then ride it, otherwise STFU!

You call it the Gayster, but don't take it personally. Whatever. Unique, well I'm the only one around the CR area to have as of right now, so guess that makes it unique. Besides I just got it, I'll be doing things to it to make it mine.
