I was going to put a few things on my sporty but realized the bigger bolts are torx bolts which I've heard several bad stories of stripping them. Why would HD use these bolts???? JD
Personally, I've never had a problem with any torx headed bolts/screws. Usually if theyre getting stripped easily, its because the bit being used isnt a very good one
I know that many people on here will replace them with different bolts as they do some regular maintenance. I haven't had too much trouble with them, I think the last one I had issues with was my own fault. Replacing the bolts is a fairly cheap solution if you don't want to mess with the torx bolts.

Exactly. I bought SK Tools Hex and Torx just for my bike. Also when using extensions with rachets and so forth must stay centered. I have had zero problems since I upgraded to SK from the craftsman I had before. Even then it was the hex that fought me not torx. Quality tools are a must to service these fasteners.
Just use the "proper" tool for the job and you'll be fine. Torx bolts won't strip if you have correct size bit and don't apply too much force (i.e. air wrench). No need to worry.
