Default 883 gas tank

Wondering of anyone has swapped out the 3.5gal tank on and XL with a 4.5gal tank from a custom? Do any other parts need to be swapped out to make the change?

Assuming the new tank is of the same vintage, you didn't list the year of your bike, yes you can swap it. The 4.5 gal tank is a bit longer, so you might need to trim the nose of your seat or get a seat made for the 4.5 tank.

Should be 3.3 gal (vs. 3.5) and it can be done, but your problem will be modding seat to fit "longer" tank (i.e. 4.5 gal's bigger footprint). Personally, I haven't done the swap, but some here have and can expand on problem points/areas.

I never even caught the reference to 3.5 - Maybe I need a bit more Java too. LOL
Yes, you may need to trim the nose off your seat. A new one to fit the larger tank will be a bit more $$$ than the trim job.
