If you're looking at Progressive 412's, go for the 12.5" or longer. The 12.5" and longer 412's use a different spring rate that provides a noticeably better ride than the 12" and shorter 412's.

generic Harley Davidson shocks - probably equivalent to the 412. They ride very well for me, I have them set on minimum pre-load and it they depress maybe 3/4" when I sit down. The forks drop barely 1/2" works out perfect for me, I hardly ever ride 2-up.
