Cycle Shack Slash
I put on my Cycle Shack slash mufflers today. First, many thanks to bensonjv for taking the time to post clear and concise step by step instructions. I followed those instructions to the letter, with one exception. I used liquid wrench instead of WD-40 to loosen the stock mufflers. About 5 minutes of soak time and they came right off. Everything else was very easy.
My first thought when I fired it up with the new mufflers was, "Holy crap, is that loud!!" It became a little more bearable when I backed it out of the garage. But if I was still leaving for work on the bike at 5:45 every morning like I did for years, I would have put the stock mufflers back on immediately to keep peace with the neighbors.
My next thought when I got out on the road was, "Now it SOUNDS like a Harley!" At cruising speeds (55-65) the rumble is just pleasant. When you crack the throttle, people around you are going to know you are there, which, with all the dumb cage drivers talking on their cell phones while putting on eye makeup or fiddling with their stereos, is a good thing! Bottom line: I like the Cycle Shack mufflers. They have a nice deep tone and are a great buy for the bucks.

RE: Cycle Shack Slash
Hee ! Hee ! 5:45am ... my gym opens at 5:30. Im on the road at 4:45am. I like to get there at 5 so I can go for a run before they open. Only complaints so far is from the wife who says that the bike rumbles the bed. I park it in a Cycle Shell that is on the other side of the outside bedroom wall.
They are loud and some have told me that they quiet down after a while. I havent noticed any change.

Glad it went well for you. You'll notice the sound getting better over time. Initially they sound good but a little "slap-clap". As you get some carbon build up inside the mufflers the sound will change just a little and give you a lower deeper throatier rumble.
CS's are one of the best bangs for the bucks out there.
Funny, I thought they were pretty loud at first too. Then I went to bike week at Myrtle Beach. After that, not so much. They are loud enough but not over the top. You'll get all the rumble you want and you'll keep cagers aware you are around when on the highway. But you aren't going to be so loud as to draw five-O attention.
