Default Extra nipples on my S&S super 81 B carb

Extra nipples on my S&S super 81 B carb

What are these extra nipples (one is under the S&S and the other is under the ER in Super)?

Would these have been added aftermarket? If so, why?

Interesting! You can see on the Ebay carb that the casting has provision for the two additional features on yours, so it looks as if yours is a standard variant of the other one. Probably a factory S&S version for a particular application. The Ebay carb looks the same as the B on S&S's current website. They may be able to help you, if we can't in here. As a fellow S&S owner I have found them very helpful, when answering my emails.

I do see the provision for the one, but, not the other one.

hmmmm... perhaps it was for a pressure gauge or something?

This is an extra carb I have laying around - if there is any interest, I am open to offers + shipping

One of them is a dimple above the number '2', the other is the square-ish bit to it's right. On your carb it looks a bit like a keyhole, with that threaded thing sticking out.

Yeah, and on my carb it is a number "3" - does a 2 and 3 carb have different meanings?

I doubt it. I've seen a '1' while looking on line. It may be the mould number used to cast the original body, in other words they mould several castings at a time.
