How many of us ride our bikes as daily transportation

Ignoring your bike and/or OL ain't good!
Over the years, I have used mine as backup transport to work. The longest period was a fortunately mild winter here in Texas, while my truck's engine was being overhauled (4 months).
The bike was really reliable on the 60 mi round trip. The real benefit was that running it every day made it a 1 kicker every morning. The chop hates to sit too long, it gets an attitude if ignored, (same as the OL) LOL!

I think I fit the description
118mi round trip commute, every 3 days or so (weird shift schedule). I draw the line at intentionally riding with temps in the low teens (I have done 18f this year). Truck only moved 430 miles last year (and some of that was from being lent out). Gotta love Texas weather!

99.9% of my transportation is on one of my bikes. I don't have a cage. Wife has a truck, but I am very rarely in it.
We don't get much snow or ice here, but if we do, one of my rides is a Tri-Glide, and it is actually a lot of fun on the icy roads.
Mostly I ride the Sporty or the Softail to the shop and to appointments.
On overnights, like the OP, I use what I pack as a backrest....see pics below.
Stuff sacks and trash bags are great!
I also have a little sterno collapsible stove that works very well for motel or camp cooking.
A couple more pics using the bike for utility transport. lol
Headed to the post office with a load of packages-

I ride most days to work, especially when it's sunny and a low (<50%) chance of precip. I tend to use the truck more on the weekends because I usually have to take my son with me or I'm carrying something too big for the bike. My son doesn't like to ride when the temps are below 70F, so we use the bike more from late-Spring through early-Fall.

fortunately Hawai'i's weather is magical for riding, so yup my Sporty is all that I ride! Rolled up blanket stuffed with **** I need, and a military backpack for shopping and I'm good to go! it does rain a bit, but some rain gear and a Lick's Nov Dot 3/4 helmet with a Biltwell bubble shield cures that issue up right away don't own a car and don't need one either!
