Default Picking Up First Harley on Friday-XL1200X

What's up everyone. I've been riding motorcycles for a little over 12 years but have always owned sport bikes in the past. A couple years ago I sold my R6 and have been without a bike since then. For the past couple months I've had an "itch" for another bike, but being a little older now and having 3 kids the sport bike thing is in the past.

I was originally looking at getting an Iron as my first Harley, but I stumbled upon an excellent deal on a brand new 2012 Forty-Eight that has been sitting at a nearby dealership for the past 2 years. It was originally the blue color but they recently had the tank custom painted in an attempt to sell it. Either way, I got it for a steal (IMO) and it still comes with all the benefits of buying a new bike like the full 2 year warranty and lower interest rates.

I'll be picking it up on Friday and already have a box of goodies from DK Customs sitting at the house waiting on its arrival.

I'll post some better pictures of it once I have it, but for now here are a few pictures the dealer sent me of the gas tank.

Sweet bike, man I love my 48. Get ready to fight off the mod bug though! Like the tank, is that a custom paint job?

I really like the 48. I think it is a killer looking bike. And that custom paint looks great! Congratulations. Look forward to hearing about it.

Thanks guys, I'm excited about it. As far as the mod bug goes, I don't think any of my toys have stayed stock for very long.

Lynchburg/Bedford right now but we will be moving to Fort Knox in a couple months. I might be trading someone for a different tank because my plan was to paint it flat black. I don't think I want to ruin a custom paint job even if I didn't have to pay for it.

I don't think you'd have any trouble trading that thing away. I've always loved the "1" Harley logo
