They must be looking for a better pay pattern history.Make 12 payments on time and you qualify for a better rate. But you'll be way upside down,so get the one you want.Your pre approved on any sporty it sounds like. If they are telling you it has to be one certain bike, that's BS! It's the amount of $ not the unit. They like to force credit challenged people to take what they want to get rid of.Believe me,if your approved there, your approved at any harley joint.

I would also recommend the forward controls. I'm 6'1" and have mid controls. Most of my height is upper body (legs aren't all that long) but if my legs were any longer, I'd have to get the forward controls. As it is, they are on my long list of things I'd like to add, but we all know how that goes.

I am 6'2.5" and about 230. My 1200C with fwd controls fits me just fine. Additionally, my lady and I ride 2UP (have the Sundowner Seat and intercom system) on long trips all the time and we're fine.

Have any of you taller guys needed to go with the 2" extended forward controls? At what height do you think these might be needed?

credit only good enuff for sporty...need more lines of credit he says...said i could trade in sporty after a yr, but wonder how upside down i would be in that trade...
I don't see how they could swing it after a year... but to answer your question... a lot... unless you're putting like half down...

It would take better than two years to get close to breaking even... and then that would still depend on at what percentage you were paying...

That's just to get even...

So consider if you go this route... you'll have the scoot for a while... I'd go with the 1200 in your case...

Now this is just my opinion...

Go with the Custom,I'm 5'10" and don't think I could live with the Mids.As for the financing I can see exactly where he is.That's how I ended up with my Shadow! The local Harley shop couldn't finance me thru Harley and that's the only financing they use!Well I had to have a bike and went to Honda and I got financed at a bank with a co-signer,my bud who just bought the Shadow from me is who did it,he got it for his wife. Anyway I haven't had a bill in my name in 12 years!I hate them and pay cash for almost everything. So anyway I didn't have any credit what so ever!We own our little shack here[&:]So I bought the 89' Harleywith my tax return cash and went to pick it up in Iowa and there she was,my beautiful black custom and he said give him a 1/2 hour, and I brought back 2,after 8 months of the Honda payment and 10 months 3 CC paymentsCapitol 1 is wanting to give me a 107K loan tobuy abetter house pay my harley off and have a little for home improvments to remodel my old 1 and rent it outI have the bike I have wanted since high school and my kids all graduate within 5 years so not sure I'm doing that!We found a house we want, with a big old garage + an extra garage and a rented out 2 bedroom trailer for incomeand my 4 bdrm house for 70K but we are thinking of moving since our kids are gonna be gone! On the other hand having the 2 places rented would make the payment[]

I'm 6'1" and ride a 2001 1200S. I have mid-mount controls. I've had no problems with being too crowded. I also have highway pegs on my engine guard if I feel the need to stretch out on long trips. I've ridden several 500+ days and didn't use the highway pegs all that much. I don't think I'll ever go to forward controls. I like the sporty look of mid-mount controls vs. forward-mount.
