I can confirm you have to unbolt the rear master cylinder to add pegs to the back.

They said if anyone touches it that will void the warranty ..
First service 1000 miles = 1609.3km and your next service is at 5000 miles = 8046.7km, in less you have a warranty from that specific dealer then they might void it BUT if they are talking about the Harley Davidson Warranty - their full of ****!

so i was basically lied to .....

as i am thinking of putting on new exhaust , new suspension , oil and fuel gauges ...looks like they have lost a lot of business for nothing ......
I'm not so sure the dealership is "lying" to you. It's a brand new model year bike, not a lot have probably come through the dealership yet. Most Sportsters only change a small bit from year to year. I'd at least give them the benefit of the doubt on how the pegs are installed, especially if they just changed in 2014.

As for the fuel and oil gauges, don't waste your money. Odometer and oil light have served me well for over 23 years.

Thanks John , i was probably pissed off , as when they told me they would ship them to me and then they call and say they have not got the right pegs ....and then they call and say got the pegs but they are different ...i am sure they had the pegs but they were not sure how to put them on ...bad communication ...

yes it does need to be removed. brake lines do not have to be disconnected.exhaust does if its stock to gain access to brake cylinder bolts.the mount that the cylinder mounts on now will have to be removed and will now mount onto the passenger peg kit. pretty straight forward procedure.idid this today on my 2014 iron 883.

I bought my passenger pegs with the bike. Took the dealer like 3 hours to install them because they didn't realize the master cylinder needed to be removed for installation. Their quote for labor for the bike deal ended up working out in my favor.
