Well that sucks... Appreciate the info though.

Arlen Ness states the 20-355 fits all XL's '00 thru '17 with the 3 exceptions that don't include the XL883L. Revzilla says it fits, Dennis Kirk says it fits, Direct Cycle Parts says it fits, so does J&P Cycles. Apparently everyone is basing their fitment guide to what Arlen Ness says in their fitment chart, or in this case what Arlen Ness ISN'T saying.

Guess I'll be getting a refund.

Well, using specifically the "XL883L" as an example ...

It could be used on the 2005-2010 XL883L, but not on the 2011-later XL883L ... when they created the SuperLow (XL883L) with the Mid-glide front forks

... Among other 39mm Mid-glide Frontend models

Stock pipes, intake and air cleaner. It has always had a really annoying surge when riding at the 20 - 25 mph speed limit around town. Experience suggested that it was the lean settings in the stock fuel map. I think they went too far with them so I bought the programmer to experiment.

I told the seller (Moto Fuel) when I bought that the bike was stock and the tuner came with a tune on it that I loaded to the bike. It works. I'm happy and I think the bike is happier too.

That's fairly similar to what I did with my Fatboy S. I have a Power Vision and a Vance and Hines 2-into-1 Pro Pipe and the bike came with a high-flow air filter. They loaded a customized tune, I loaded it to my bike and all was good.

It was 37 degrees, windy & wet this morning. Left her where she sits and borrowed Mary's truck to go to work.

I must be getting old!

Windshield is stock HD as the bike is a XL1200T.

The handguards I got from ebay but the problem is tracking down the correct ones. The place I got mine from are no longer around. The bracket bolts on to the underside of the mirror stems. There seems to be two sizes for where the bracket bends. Some are around 1.5 inch and some are 2 inch. You need the bend at 2 inches or else the guard will not fully cover the levers.

That looks like the same windshield that came with my 2005 XL883 when I bought it from its previous owner. It isn't cheap but it is worth every penny. It deflects the air perfectly across the top of my head, does not vibrate at all and installs/uninstalls in less than 5 minutes without tools. It uses super heavy-duty cam locks.
