My Power Vision tuner came and I uploaded a tune to my Sportster. It seems to like it - much, much less surging at slow in-town speeds and it feels like there's more acceleration to boot. It's a shame I had to spend $400 + to get a stock bike to run like it should but I can't say I'm sorry I did it.

Is your bike completely stock? You should not need a tuner if so.
My 2017 sounded lean and a remap solved that. By richen the mixture an engine may not produce peak power but it generally runs smoother and runs cooler. Obviously you can too far and then it is just wasting petrol and soots up the engine.

I was told that on day one of the EFI engines the tune was set lean. As the years have rolled on the tune has been leaned out as much as possible to meet emission laws.

Then again, you know your bike better than anyone. If you think it needed a tune, go for it. It sounds like you're happy with it and that's what counts.

Well crap... The Arlen Ness Method fork brace arrived today, didn't fit. Wasn't wide enough.
The part number 20-355, is correct on the box and the included instructions, but the center to center measurement of the brace is about 7", the forks on the bike are around 8.5". The Arlen Ness website says it's the correct part for my bike, I emailed Direct Cycle Parts before I ordered it and they also said it is the correct one. Looking like the wrong fork brace got put into the box.
Guess I'll be on the phone with Direct Cycle Parts tomorrow.

But My 17 custom was choked down so much on a epa reg tune you couldn’t do anything.
Powervision and Jamie fixed that.

They don't list one that will work
