Yes they are fantastic. We had a lower model, that came built into our Bilt helmets, but were bluetooth only. The 30K has bluetooth and Mesh, which is far more advanced. Too many details to cover here. I upgraded our helmets and systems because the Cyclegear store made me an offer I could not refuse. A 100% credit on our old helmets, and they were bought last Oct and last Dec.
Got new and better Bilt helmets and the dual pak of Sena 30K.
A charge will give a full 8 hrs of conversations, but ya gotta charge them........ brain fart. They are charging as we speak.
Mesh technology will allow up to 16 riders in a convo and they can come and go and auto connect when they come back. Range between 2 riders, in line of sight is said to be 1.5 miles, and if you have a string of riders, it can stretch to 5 miles.
For you, overseas, there is a phone app called rideconnected, that allows you (using the phone) to somehow connect to anyone anywhere.
As you said, voice clarity is great.
By the way, for any interested. During my recent 4 day trip, with the wifes cousin and his wife, they had the HD brand half helmets that came with Sena 30K built in. The microphone is built into the small overhead visor and is NOT visible, yet as we rode his voice was crystal clear to me. I asked if he was yelling and he said just talking a little above normal.
Their helmets were $350 I believe.

I got this new XL883L new about a month ago and ordered parts to make it fit my size here. It runs and rides OK as stock, but as it is Harley, it needed to be rebuilt to fit my needs and wishes. My bike back in the states(i'm in the Philippines now, trying to retire) is a 2007 Softail Custom and is outfitted pretty much as this one is now. I like the stretched out look as my style preference and like to ride around here, hopping the ferry system to ride a new coast line with the wife. This new seat, forwards, adapted luggage rack makes it more comfortable to do this here. We have 7,100 different islands here, most of which are nice and safe to ride. The ones that are NOT.... we simply leave to the locals.
For the short duration rides I can get here, the Sportster makes a viable touring bike..... Who knew !!

Thats a nice sissy bar bag. What brand?
FYI, there are many here that have toured HUGE numbers of miles on sportsters. For solo they make a very viable, nimble machine, with proper luggage. I just did a 900 mile round trip a few weeks ago and it was more than up to the task.
Now 2 up would probably not be so fun on long trips. I take my wife on mine but the trips so far are short by comparison. Last was a 100 mile round trip. Partly its getting her used to riding longer rides as well, but also its not super roomy back there for her.
