I removed a really deep scratch on my tank by carefully building it up with lacquer and then even more carefully cutting it back with 2500 grit paper followed by fine rubbing compound and lastly a good wax . It's still visible but I'd have to point it out to you . I'm rather pleased with myself . 😁

I adjusted the valves and took the old Ironhead on an 85 mile BBQ run with some friends yesterday. It ran great, but that seat felt even thinner than it looks...lol

I took mine for a short run yesterday. Went past a new restaurant in town (Santa Margarita), and almost missed it. Cool looking flat head HD sitting in front. Sorry no pic, but wished later that I had turned around to take one. The glimpse I got it looked like new.

Funny how big a difference it makes replacing 15 year old rubber with new treads.

Yup. Like I've said, not sure how much is simply new rubber vs this specific tire design. Either way, WAY better.

The Panhead was the first Big Twin to have hydraulic lifters, and the '86 Evo was the first Sportster to have them. All Ironhead Sportsters had solid lifters.

Nice looking bike! If you want the Dyna I say go for it, but there is a lot you can do with the Sporty. I'm 6'2" and I'm pretty happy with how I have mine setup now. I wanted to keep the mid pegs so I went with the tallboy seat and some lowered pegs from Knight Designs. I feel like I've got a lot of room now. I'd really try and give the tallboy seat a shot if possible. It made a huge difference for me.
