I am glad to hear you weren't injured worse than that. Sad about the bike.... it was really nice. Hopefully you get made whole again with regards to all this.

Man, sorry to see that. You had the bike fixed up nicely. Very glad to read the damage to you was not too bad, but take your time in settling on the medical part of the insurance. I can tell you from experience, stuff can pop up weeks or months later.

Prolly going to total that beautiful bike, hard to imagine the frame not being tweaked, at the rear fender struts if no where else.

Very happy you walked away!!!

I repaired the speedometer on my '82. The tab somehow got bent. I had to remove the wheel and bend the piece back into place. I also went ahead and relubed the gear drive and speedometer cable while I was at it. Easy fix and save me some money.

The tab is supposed to be in that notched out area and not where it sits.

You can see the bent tab. I rebent it into place and all good now.

I sat in the cold garage and told "Candy-O" of all the places we would go when the weather gets warm, in about 5 months from now!

My dealer picked up my bike today for the 5,000 mile service. First time is has been out of the garage in a month since the weather turned towards winter.

Dealer is having a 20% off parts and labor special for the season so I'm taking advantage of it.

Been there, done that! It's easily done when refitting the wheel. I only recently replaced the speedo drive unit on my bike, so they are still available if you need one, courtesy Ebay.

Well, this weekend the speedometer itself took a dive. It literally started bouncing all over the place and not holding tru speed, until it finally started going in circles and the needle fell off of it. My wife asked what was that noise she heard over the comms as it was dying and I told her that the speedo blew up.
When I took it apart at home it was done for. I am now searching for a new one.

Put its cover on and shopped for forwards controls. Hard to find for a 1990.
