Default Oil & filter change

The previous owner must’ve used an impact wrench to tighten the oil filter. Geez! Don’t people read anything about motorcycle maintenance?

My tires I ordered over the weekend just came in. Got'em through Amazon (Riders Domain) and very impressed with the price and level of packaging.

installed some Cobra RPT 3" slip ons on my 04 sporty. I'm super pumped, they're not too loud and have an awesome sound.

Funny, I put 3" Cobra slip ons on my Sporty, and they were obnoxious. I got the "quiet" baffle, and it was slightly less obnoxious. I reversed the "quiet" baffle, so the internal construction would trap a bit more sound, and they are still loud, just shy of obnoxious.

Checked my belt tension with my new $25 belt tension tool. yea, its about 1/2" of deflection - my 08 should have 3/8-5/16, so I gotta tighten it up.

Took my bike out last week with the wife for a spirited ride but got caught in the rain. Went to wash the bike today and found the oil at the bottom of the dip stick. Top her up with oil. Washed and rode the bike. Checked the oil. Way over full.

How many sportys out there that have this drain down to the bottom of the engine bizzo ? First time I’ve experienced this since new. Could it be the bike had to work a little harder 2 up than with just me riding it?.
is there a check valve in the line to stop this. Or is it what I have to expect having a dry sump bike .
