Although Im not sure from the pictures it looks much brighter, the throw pattern and High beam are major improvements over what I had.
Same exposure settings for all. Bike is ~30-35 feet from barn.
Newer 80W low beam
Newer 80W high beam
Older 45W High Beam
Older 45W Low Beam Only

well yes and no. in the product description it states: 3000Lms@45W on low beam;4800Lms@80W on high beam.
however, Im sure the 45W version isnt 45W on low beam. Im sure its ~25-35W on low and the single high beam that turns on adds another 10-15W. but its not much of a difference out riding.
the new one adds 35W and and significantly better placed to allow both infront illumination as well as down road.
the 45W i had always had this 'in between' where I couldnt see Directly in front of me, if I had the high beam angled high enough to shoot it down road. or I could have light in front, but high beam would only be 30-40 feet up the road and cut off.
the 80 does a Much better job of illuminating the sides of the road And evenly illuminating the road area in front of you, rather than that 'round ring' the 45W had.
plus the high beam is concentrated and more powerful down road. Im going to put the 45W up for sale on the local channels - should make my 'upgrade' only 20-30$- totally worth it.
and I would highly recommend this over the other for new purchases.
I got the front fender back today after being stripped and powder coated. The guy did a good job considering what he had to work with. The old paint pretty much scraped off in large pieces with lumpy rust under it. Looks much better now. In hindsight, I should have just bought a new fender and gave him that....

Looks nice. I bought a 'new' front fender off of Ebay for fairly cheap and just painted it myself (flat black to match the Iron)
The newer fender has 'holes' in it to match the 'buckshot' theme...
