I installed Biltwell Kung Fu grips. Completely different world than the slippery thin stock grips.
The left side came off easy. One slit with a knife and the stock grip was off. Installed new grip with hair spray. Let sit overnight. It's not moving. Ever.
Throttle side was a problem. Old grip was glued on with something that made it bond with the throttle tube. I called my local dealer and was told I can't buy that throttle tube from them without a grip on it already. What? OK, I says, Biltwell sells one. Yeah, he says, I can sell you that one for 70$ plus tax and a long wait. No thanks.
I removed the throttle tube and spent a couple hours with a sharp knife skinning off the old grip, piece by piece. The new grip was too tight on that tube to use hairspray.... it setup too soon and couldn't get the grip all the way on. I used wd40 and it went on fine. Let sit overnight.... it's not going to move....too tight on there. Tested on the highway. Done. I like them.

Here he comes. The grim reaper.
And there she goes for winter hibernation.
They charge $300. They come to pick it up in the fall, and bring it back in the spring. Although most guys want to run over there and pick their bike up as soon as the first nice day comes. They also do an oil change and whatever other winter stuff they do, including trickle charging the battery. If you have $1,500 of work done in parts & labor over the winter, they credit you back the $300. Not a bad deal.
