LOL

It's all about the seat, seat suspension, rear tire, and making the front suspension better, when going hardtail or struts.

I was 54 when I put the above bike together. Comfortable to ride 3-4 hours, then the seat started getting hard...but that was lack of padding...the seat suspension eats up the bumps nicely.

At 59 I am building another Sporty. It has a more padded seat, and even better seat suspension. Here's a photo of it in progress-

It's got 5" of travel in the seat, so I'm anticipating a much nicer ride that with the stock seat and stock suspension.

I changed the primary oil. I was able to find a T27 in the bottom of my toolbox but the previous owner of the bike had overtightened the derby cover screws... bottom 3 were not cooperating and I didn't want to strip them. I filled through the little inspection cover. Put in the whole litre. I'll check the level once I get those T27s out later with a new bit and more patience.

Suddenly the only tool I have on hand but never touched became the most important... to finish the job, already had it drained. Didn't even know I had a T27.

Hey I still speak in MPG and inches!

Did my 20k mile service and liking the bellray sport transmission fluid. Used it last service and it really makes a noticeable difference in smooth shifting.

She also got a detail and wax!

Setting up to service the rear brakes -

This side cover has seen better days anyway. The seat, when it's on, covers most of the rough top edge. The forward clip is broken and lets the cover flap around. I drilled a hole near the clip and it gets held in place with a zip tie. For now, until I repair that clip or find a better solution.

Let her rest in the garage and took the Electra Glide to work. Figured she needed a break from this daily Florida rain. Also repainted the heat shields.

Today marks 3 years and nearly 10,000 miles of owning the Sportster. Then and now.
