What did you do to Your Sportster Today?

After 24,503 amazing miles over almost 3 years, I rode it into the dealer for the last time. What a great bike!
I can see myself back on a Sporty one day, when I'm too old & feeble to handle heavier bikes. For now, I'll be bonding with the Low Rider FXDL. I guess my Sporty was a gateway drug.

For the last few days, was trying to figure out why my original 1980 Ironhead was not starting....I know you need spark, fuel, and compression. mechanic already checked compression, so charged the battery....engine turned but still no go. Next cleared the carb bowl by turning on the ignition, switching it to run, and turn the throttle wide open with the petcock closed. Bike turned and farted. Next pulled the new spark plugs and checked for spark...there was spark but it was yellow/orange color. Cleaned the plugs and regapped. Started right up....love doing this stuff.
Also reinstalled my original vent hose from AC to gearcase to get it back to original....also has an external vent hose running under the bike.
Need to adjust my pushrods next since it doesn't appear to have been touched.
Today got two people inquire about my 2011 and a $4000 offer on my IH. Declined the offer.

Rode it to work this morning, little 'brisk' at 5:30 am and 43*. The ride home more than made up for it though, sunny and 84*!
When I got home I mounted the RAM mount for my GPS or phone. Haven't decided which one I'm going to use when my son and I ride down to Deals Gap in June. Probably go with the GPS, if something was to happen and it came loose I'd rather it hit the pavement than my phone. THAT would suck...

Rode it to work...stopped and got this photo along the way.
Looking forward to a nice, long, round about ride home this evening.
