I did about 100 miles today down to a nearby dealer, where a friend of mine traded in his Low Rider for a '15 Street Glide. I rode back home on my 11 yr old Sporty, reminding myself he's got something else I don't...monthly payments.

On my newly purchased 2006 883 I installed a cafe fairing, Progressive 412s, Mustang Vintage Solo seat, replaced the blue painted tins with silver ones I got from CL for $150, replaced all fluids, installed Drag Specialties baffles, upped the jetting, installed a SE air cleaner. Next up, Avon tires(:

Worked and Rode all day yesterday, worked most of today.

This afternoon I sat down beside the Sporty to do some wiring work on some stuff I'm experimenting with...

...after a minute I said to myself, nope, gonna relax the rest of the afternoon.

I'll do it one day next week.

My son and I took off late this morning and rode all afternoon. Beautiful day here so we took advantage of it!

We stopped here at Deers Mill where there is a covered bridge over Sugar Creek for a while. You can barely see the roof of the covered bridge thru the trees behind the bikes. I can remember when they still used that bridge before the modern one was put in.

Nice bikes. You are fortunate to be able to ride with your son. My kid lives on the other side of the continent and isn't a motorhead at all.

Thanks, and yeah it's a blessing having a son I am able to ride with. Old dad isn't getting any younger and I plan on doing it as long as I can!

I hate the S&S intake, so I got rid of it and built a homemade one. That increased the amount of air getting sucked in. I rode it for awhile with the other pipes (some unknown Screamin' Eagle stuff) and it ran......okay, but I didn't want to mess with it knowing that I would be putting new pipes on shortly.

^^^With the old pipes.^^^

Then when I put the Lowbrow pipes on there, it definitely opened it up even more. It was time to up the jets a size, and it worked beautifully.

I haven't done anything major to the engine. I had it bored out .010 over and put new pistons in a couple thousand miles ago, but that's about it.

I have to agree, my son has a Buell (as do I) and lives 3 towns away. We ride together as often as we can. He is a firefighter, so getting around the 24 on, 48 off schedule is tricky.

Enjoy that while you can. I never got to actually go riding with my dad but he set me off on two wheels at a very young age. I wish he could see what I'm riding now, he would laugh his butt off. This was a "end of school year" thing when I was five or so. 68 or 69 Kawasaki Coyote...50cc pull start with cursed centrifugal clutch. The only 4 stroke I've ever owned besides my current bike. It was used when he bought it and it had been through 3 generations of kids after me and put away in a shed for many years when this was taken-

He used to take me and my bikes to races and wait until I was done. That's him running in this pic.

Sorry if this is off topic. Riding with family must be a blast.
