What did you do to Your Sportster Today?

Earlier in the week I mounted this piece of bling to the motor. Had to use a 3/16" ball end hex bit to allow me to angle the torque wrench in there to re-torque the bolts. Damn pushrod tubes.
Today I ran up to the new location Indianapolis Harley Davidson moved to to check it out. Had no intention of buying anything but... you know.
So, I replaced these clunky looking things...
With these...
More gooder.

Well - it was a nice 45 degrees here today, and I had some time, so I tried to get the bike out.
Forgot that my FIL had unplugged my battery minder - so i tried to see if the ol battery held up the past 2-3 months
Well no. Cranked 2-3 times then petered out.
Except one problem.
The Speedo is now stuck @ like 100mph.
I did get it jumped and took it out, runs fine, but even pulling the positive lead, it doesnt reset.
Is there a way to fix it, or do I need to pull a Ferris Bueller and 'crack it open and roll it back by hand'?
:/

WELL someone on the HD FB page said to press the reset button while turing on the bike.
This didnt fix it initially but it did get it to swing all the way down, and then back to settle @ 60. so I popped the back off to 'manually' reset 0, but decided to unplug the guage itself, as a test.
Turned on the bike without the gauge plugged in, then plugged it back in and the needle swung back to 0!!
Turned it on and off 2-3 times to be sure but it seems like it should be @ 0 and working.

put about a hundert miles on her today down to Sanford, NC and back, then spent about the same amount of time washing all the awful winter road grime off. Well, almost. A couple more washings to hit some details, then some fresh WD-40 in a few of the more exposed connections ought to do the trick.
